• Focus on the eyes
• Try a 3/4 view (between straight on and a profile)
• Position yourself at your pet's eye level
• Fill the camera's frame with your subject for more detail
• Make sure your pet stands out clearly from the background
• Collars, tags, etc. can be omitted from the final painting
• If you desire a specific background, a photo of the background can be supplied separately and be added to the painting.
